Long-time Prague resident, Jaunita Lorene Ellison, 83, went to be with the Lord on Saturday, March 6, 2010, in Shawnee. Jaunita Lorene Carpenter was born on March 7, 1926, to Sam and Lillie (Lacquement) Carpenter in Okemah, Oklahoma.

She married Tony Pirl Ellison on December 29, 1947 in Prague. He preceded her in death on June 1, 2007. They had 59½ happy years together. Jaunita was a homemaker and a member of the Prague Nazarene Church where she was the treasurer for 45 years. Her parents; daughter, Jackie Leonard; granddaughter, Vicki Leonard; nine brothers; and one sister also preceded Jaunita in death.

Survivors include daughters and sons-in-law, Janice and David Lewis of Ozark, MO, Mary and Henry Thoma of Prague, Jo Ann and Les Stewart of Prague; ten grandchildren; twenty-two great-grandchildren; nine great-great-grandchildren; brother and sister-in-law, Calvin and Velena Carpenter of Okemah; sisters-in-law, Ruby Carpenter of Prague, Myrtle Carpenter of Prague; many nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.

The Ellison family will receive friends at Parks Brothers Funeral Home in Prague on Tuesday, March 9, 2010, from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM.
