Sherman Leon Davis was born in Checotah, Oklahoma on June 3, 1939 and departed this life in Shawnee, Oklahoma on Tuesday, March 2, 2010 at the age of 70 years.
Sherman was the son of John William and Ruby Lee (Briggs) Davis. Sherman was a resident of Stroud, Oklahoma. Sherman married Rebecca Lou Richardson on April 10, 1959 in Wagoner, Oklahoma. He served in the United States Army. He was a member of the Assembly of God Church in Stroud, and worked as a heavy equipment operator. He was preceded by his parents. Survivors include, Four Sons, Kenneth Davis of Shawnee, OK, Danny Davis of Drumright, OK, John Davis of Stroud, OK, Gary Davis of Stroud, OK, One Daughter, Sandra Davis of Shawnee, OK, One Sister, Florence Lewis of Chouteau, OK, Nineteen Grandchildren, Fifteen Great Grandchildren, Other relatives and friends.
Funeral service will be held at the Assembly of God on Monday, March 8. 2010 at 10:00 A.M. with Rev. Jeromye Jackson officiating. Burial will be at the Stroud Cemetery under the direction of Parks Brothers Funeral Service in Stroud, Oklahoma.
