Dorothy Marie Lakins was born on March 24, 1937, in Bakersfield, California, and departed this life on Saturday, February 27, 2010, in Paden, Oklahoma, at the age of 72.
Dorothy, the daughter of Carrol Cleddy and Fannie Inez (Gill) Gage, was a resident of Paden. She married Doyle Lakins on November 14, 1952, in Chocilla, California. He preceded her in death on October 10, 2007. Dorothy worked as a machine operator for Wrangler and was a member of the Paden Holiness Church. Her parents also preceded Dorothy in death.
Survivors include sons and daughters-in-law, Eugene and Sherry Lakins of Prague, Gary and Terrie Lakins of Shawnee, Bryon and Debbie Lakins of Midwest City, Ricky Lakins of Paden; daughter and son-in-law, Kathy and Joe Batie of Quapaw; brothers and sisters-in-law, Wayne and Betty Gage of Purdy, MO, Bob and Carolyn Gage of Purdy, MO; sisters and brother-in-law, Pat and Lavon Russell of Purdy, MO, Carolyn Brockman of Purdy, MO, Doris Dotson of Norman; 9 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; 1 great great-grandchild; many other relatives and friends.
Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, March 2, 2010 at 2:00 PM, at the Burnett Mission in Paden with Rev. Bryan Logan and Rev. Paul Heard officiating. Interment will follow at the Paden Cemetery. Services are under the direction of Parks Brothers Funeral Service in Prague.
