Earl E. McMillan, age 87, of Harrah, OK, was born in Paoli, Oklahoma. He was the son of William Scruggs McMillan and Dealvia McMillan. He left this life on Sunday, February 7, 2010, in Harrah, OK.
Earl graduated from Harrah High School in 1941. He married Ruth E. Mankin on October 4, 1941, in Harrah, OK. Earl proudly served in the U. S. Army during World War II. He picked cotton, worked in a drug store and for about six months worked at Sinclair Oil Company. Earl worked at the First State Bank of Harrah for 46 years, retiring as the executive vice president. He was a member of the First Baptist Church, Harrah, were he was a deacon for several years. Earl played softball while he was in the service. One of Earl's hobbies included trapping gophers at Memory Lane Cemetery in Harrah. He enjoyed hunting squirrels, fishing, spending time at his lake home, attending his grandsons' ballgames and being with his family, especially during special times.
Earl was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, 5 brothers, Otis Elwood, Doug McMillan, Vernon McMillan, Leo McMillan, Cleo McMillan and 5 sisters, Jewel Jackson, Olevia Fleming, Ollie Sanders, Fairry Taylor and Wilma Mills.
Survivors include 3 daughters & sons-in-law, Earlene & Wayne Anderson, Nancy & Steve Wells, Beth & Wynn Carter 8 grandchildren, Darrel Anderson, Justin Anderson, Matthew Wells, Daniel Wells, Joe Carter, Nick Carter, Jennifer Gambrell, Anna Hixon; 7 great-grandchildren, Dayton Gambrell, Shelbi Gambrell, Trey Rose, Walker Rose, Vienna Wells, Cyprus Wells, Jett Carter and many other relatives and friends.
Memorials may be made to the First Baptist Church, Harrah, OK, or the charity of your choice.
Services were held 2:00 PM, Thursday, February 11, 2010, at the First Baptist Church, Harrah, OK, with Rev. Gary Eubanks officiating. Interment followed at Memory Lane Cemetery, Harrah, OK. Services were under the direction of Smith~Parks Funeral Service in Harrah, OK.
